Food that boosts immune system


Immune system is the defense system of our body. It helps to protect our body against any infection, germs and disease. Here are some foods that boosts our immune system.

Blue berries:

Blueberries contain flavonoid which contains anthocyanin that has anti-oxidant properties.  A study in 2016 found that flavonoid plays an important role in respiratory immune defense system. Research shows that people with more anthocyanin consumption use to get less upper respiratory infection and cold than with no or less consumption.

Dark chocolate:

 Dark chocolate contains theobromine which is an anti-oxidant that protects the the body cells from free radicals

Almond:

It has several minerals vitamin C, Manganese, Magnesium and Fibre.  A hand full of nuts is considered a healthy snack

Turmeric:

It’s a yellow spice which is used in many dishes. It has been using  anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory from ancient days.  It is also used as an anti-septic.

Vegetables:

Broccoli is the source of vitamin C and Sweet potatoes are rich in bête carotene which is the main source of vitamin A which protects the skin from ultra UV rays. That’s why these are preferred veggies to introduce child.

Spinach:

Spinach boosts the immune system because it contains may essential nutrients including,

  •         Carotenoiod
  •         Flavonoid
  •         Vitamin C
  •         Vitamin E

Research shows that flavonoid helps to prevent the cold.

Ginger and Garlic:

Both have anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidative properties and support immune system.

Fruits:

Water melon, Orange, Pineapple and kiwi has excellent source of  vitamin c and it also prevents the cold symptoms.

Exercise:
